1/23/10

the days are numbered.

So for all who are unsure of the full details or you just have been unable to talk to me about them...here they are. This describes the first few days of this unforgettable adventure.

So I am officially said to leave wednesday at like the crack of dawn. I don't go straight to Italy though. I am taking a 5 hour or so flight to New York, the port city. Once there I will be staying one night in a hotel and I am officially proterty of AFS, (the company which I am go to Italy through), I will have an orientation thing that night and then the next morining I will hop on the longest plane ride of my life. The plane is said to leave at around 8am on thursday the 28th. However, I don't land in Europe until 9am on Friday the 29th. I lose 9 hours in the process of travel so the flight should only be about 16 hours! ah. such a long time. Even after traveling all that time, I am still not in Italy. I will have just landed in Switzerland. After a 3 hour layover there, I will finally head off to Rome. All the other students that are also going to Italy, will be there in Rome with me where we will spend around 2 days in orientations where they will shove Italian down our throats. After those 2 days, I will take another short flight up to Triste, where my family will then pick me up and drive me through Udine, and into their small town of Buia.

This is where the Adventure begins....not in a airplane at least.

I will be updating my blog hopefully about once a week. However, they do NOT have internet at their house, so I don't know how consistant the udating will occur. It may be a little speratic during the first couple of weeks, but do not give up hope, I haven't forgotten about you! I will try to upload my pictures on here as much as i can. A large majority of the pictures are going to my FLICKR acocount. That is....www.flickr.com/photos/sarahlizzboliek. Check it out!

I love and will miss everyone!
Don't forget about me.

With Love,
Sarah
